Power up your cycling - Mario Kart styleeeee!

This is brilliant!! Just read an article on the interweb about a guy (or possibly gal) in Oregon who it seems is the games console version of Banksy! All over the city Mario Kart 'power ups' (mushrooms, bananas, go faster stripes etc!) have been painted onto the cycle lanes. If only they were real, would certainly make cycling into work more exciting! :)

BHF 66 mile ride, part 2 (2010)

After a year that has flown by it seems that the BHF 66 mile (or 25 mile, or 50 mile depending on which route you pick) event is upon us again.

As the title suggests it is run by the British Heart Foundation which is a fantastic charity and put on some amazing events throughout the year which not only keep people healthy but also raise vast amounts of money. They must have a very good 'ideas / events' team, as I have never seen any other charities doing so much to raise funds for themselves.

Since the last ride I have sold my pride and joy which was the Peugeot Competition 300. I made a bit of money on it though when selling it as I had completely renovated it. I was lucky enough to receive a Giant SCR Ltd as a present at the tail end of last year though and so will probably complete this years ride on that. I may be attending with a few friends on MTBs and nobblies though so may be forced to take the mountain bike instead!

I will update with progress, I guess it's really time to start training... =o

For more information on the ride and to sign up, visit the BHF 66 mile site.

Tredz takez agez

Just a quick on on something that has annoyed me!! I ordered a pair of cycling shorts from www.tredz.co.uk mid last week and actually thought I hadn't ordered them as I received no email confirmation or anything. I then rung them up at the beginning of the week to make sure they were coming "be with you Thursday" they said. I have just received an email saying they have been dispatched today. Not much help for the race on Sunday then....

Great software for the Garmin Edge 205 and 305

Comments (0)

In my quest to become the ultimate cyclist (ahem) I have purchased a second hand Garmin Edge 205. In typical fashion, before I have even received the unit I am already trying to find better software for it to create .crs files, as I heard the standard software isn't up to much.
